STEP BY STEP

Let's make something delicious.

  1. 01

For the tomato dip, wash and dry the tomatoes, remove the cores and roughly dice the flesh. Peel and roughly dice the garlic and onion. Rinse the lemon under hot water and finely grate 1 tbsp of zest.

  2. 02

Place the chopped vegetables, balsamic vinegar, lemon zest, olive oil and almonds in a tall container and blend until smooth using a hand blender. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  3. 03

Halve the avocados, remove the stones and carefully remove the skins with a paring knife.

  4. 04

Place the peeled avocado halves cut-side down and carefully cut into 2 mm thick slices, keeping the original shape intact.

  5. 05

Halve the bread rolls and spread with a tablespoon of tomato dip.

  6. 06

Fan out the avocado slices and place them on the dip. Season with salt and pepper.

  7. 07

Balsamic onions are an optional, flavoursome accompaniment to this snack.

  8. 08

Other dishes mentioned are German farmer’s breakfast and grilled avocado.

  9. 09

Other topics include recipes labelled as “beauty food” and the ripeness of fruit and vegetables.
