STEP BY STEP

Let's make something delicious.

  1. 01

Halve the burger buns and toast them cut-side down in a non-stick frying pan without adding oil. Grease a baking dish with butter and line it with the bottom bun halves.

  2. 02

Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic. Slice the pickled gherkins. Collect 4 tbsp of the pickle brine and set aside. Wash the beef tomatoes, remove the cores and dice the tomatoes.

  3. 03

Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan and fry the beef mince over a medium heat, breaking it up into crumbs. Add the onions and garlic and sauté briefly. Add the tomato purée and cook briefly, stirring. Stir in the tomato ketchup, mustard and pickle brine. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Fold in the gherkin slices and diced tomatoes.

  4. 04

Preheat the oven to 180 °C fan (200 °C conventional).

  5. 05

Spread the mince mixture over the bottom bun halves and cover with the Cheddar and processed cheese slices. Place the top bun halves on top. Beat the egg yolk and milk with a fork and spread over the bun tops. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and bake on the middle shelf for 12–15 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve.
